President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that if Iran kills him, his advisers will destroy Iran. He signed an executive order to put maximum pressure on Tehran. Trump said he left instructions, what to do , in case something happens to him.
Trump said, “It would be terrible if they killed me. If they did, they would be destroyed completely. There would be nothing left.” He also said that former President Joe Biden should have said those words, but he did not because of a lack of intelligence.
In November, the Justice Department confirmed that it stopped an Iranian plot to kill Trump before the presidential election. A criminal complaint filed in September said that an official in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps asked Farhad Shakeri, 51, to watch Trump and eventually kill him.
Shakeri came to the United States as a child. He was deported about 17 years ago after serving 14 years in prison for robbery, according to the DOJ. Authorities say that on October 7, 2024, he was given the task of planning to kill Trump. Shakeri has not been caught yet, and the DOJ believes he now lives in Iran.
Trump said on Tuesday, “I am signing this powerful document. I hope we do not have to use it.”
