A new artwork of pelicans appeared in London this morning. It is the fifth piece that the secretive street artist Banksy has revealed this week.
The latest mural shows two pelicans eating fish above a fish and chips shop sign in Walthamstow, northeast London. Banksy’s Instagram account shared a picture of the black stenciled mural on August 9. All the new Banksy artworks feature animals. The first was a black mountain goat standing on a wall support near Kew Bridge in London.

The second shows two elephants facing each other, painted on blocked-out windows in Chelsea.

The third artwork is of three monkeys swinging on a subway bridge in east London. The fourth artwork was a howling wolf on a white satellite dish in Peckham, South London. It was reportedly stolen less than two hours after being posted on Banksy’s Instagram. The Metropolitan Police were called, but no arrests were made.
Photos of all five artworks were confirmed on Banksy’s Instagram account. The artist’s posts didn’t have captions or titles, leading to online speculation about their meaning. The remaining new artworks in London might need extra protection.

A Banksy painting of a life-size woman with a pressure washer in northern London was defaced with white paint soon after it was unveiled in March. The building owner later put up plastic sheets and wooden boards to protect it. Last December, London police arrested two suspects connected to the quick theft of a Banksy artwork. The piece, a stop sign decorated with what looks like three military drones, was installed in Peckham, South London. It was stolen by two people with bolt cutters just one hour after Banksy posted it on Instagram.
