Argentine President Javier Milei traveled to San Miguel de Tucumán on Monday. He aimed to finalize an important point of his administration: signing the “Acta de Mayo” with provincial governors. Originally known as the “Pacto de Mayo,” this pact was signed by 18 governors.
The initiative was first announced on March 1 during the opening of Parliament sessions. The original plan was to sign it on May 25, but the government faced difficulties in getting the Basic Law and fiscal package approved, delaying the process until late June.
With these projects now approved, President Milei achieved a significant political milestone. This event took place on Independence Day, marking almost seven months of his tenure.
