Heavy rain in Chungcheong Provinces, South Korea

Heavy rainfall hit the central region, the Chungcheong Provinces, and North Gyeongsang Province on Monday. It caused flooding and damage across the country.
In North Gyeongsang Province, 197 people from 129 households were evacuated. A stream in Imdong-myeon, Andong city, overflowed, stranding 19 residents. Eight of them were rescued by the fire department.
A man in his 50s from Okcheon, North Chungcheong Province, went missing after a landslide. In South Chungcheong Province, 78 residents were evacuated due to landslide risks.
Nonsan City in South Chungcheong issued a landslide warning. They ordered 231 residents in 125 landslide-prone areas to evacuate.
The Korea Meteorological Administration reported heavy rain of 30 to 59 millimeters per hour. Gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning are expected in North Gyeongsang Province. They warned people to be cautious of flooding and landslides.
